Privacy Policy
PrintIN is provided by TheSinks. It helps customers find print shops, send documents with printing instructions, communicate with shop staff, and track print orders. This policy explains the information used to provide these services.
For privacy questions or requests, contact thesinks123@gmail.com.
1. Information we process
- Accounts and profiles: account identifiers, email address, Google sign-in profile information, display name, username, phone number, profile pictures, and your saved primary account preference (customer or shop). We use this preference to choose the view shown when you open PrintIN; it does not grant shop access or verification. Authentication services process sign-in credentials and session information. Google sign-in does not give PrintIN your Google password.
- Print documents and orders: files you choose to upload, their names, types and sizes, document content, printing instructions, page counts and ranges, copies, colour and duplex choices, selected shop, price estimate, payment status and any recorded payment method, order status, and timestamps. Order records can include a snapshot of your name, phone number, and profile-picture reference.
- Order drafts on your device: file names, your selected shop, print settings, order notes and a submission identifier are saved locally per account and shop so you can retry or resume an order. File bytes are not saved in this draft storage. Files must be selected again after restarting the app. Drafts expire after 24 hours and are removed when accessed after expiry, when discarded, or after successful submission.
- Shop reports and moderation: when you report a shop, we process your account identifier, the shop, your description and the submission time. Authorised admins review reports privately and record resolutions, shop-access decisions and certificate-access events. These records help investigate problems and prevent abuse; they are retained while needed for those purposes and applicable data-removal requests.
- Messages and activity: customer–shop messages, sender and conversation identifiers, message timestamps, the time you clear a conversation from your own view, favourite shops, and reviews and ratings you submit.
- Shop information: shop name and username, address, phone number, map coordinates, opening hours, photos, printing capabilities, standard prices, custom service categories and starting prices, ownership and staff membership details, and verification records.
- Business PAN verification: when a shop requests verification, we process its Business PAN Certificate, nine-digit PAN number, registered business name, file name, type, size and fingerprint, submitting account, submission time, shop name and address at submission, and review results and notes. Certificates are stored privately for authorised verification reviewers. Staff of that shop can see its submitted PAN details, status and review note; customers cannot see the PAN number or certificate. The public listing can show a verification badge. Reviewers compare business details with official records and supporting evidence. An upload or a matching PAN number alone does not prove that a document is genuine or that the uploader represents the business. The current process uses manual review, not automatic AI certification.
- Pcoins and game activity: PrintIN saves your Pcoin balance, remaining plays, last daily-pack purchase date and recent Pcoin Drop results in local app or browser storage. The current wallet is shared by accounts using that installation or browser profile and is not synchronised to your signed-in account or other devices. Rewarded-ad providers separately process ad interactions as described below.
- Location: with device permission, PrintIN accesses your current location to find nearby shops and display your area. Shop owners can use their location to set their shop's public map pin.
- Technical information: the services used by PrintIN can receive IP addresses, request information, device or app identifiers, interaction information, and diagnostic information as described below.
- Support: your contact details and information you include when contacting TheSinks.
The order form shows a price estimate. PrintIN can retain payment status and payment-method information in order records, including older orders. PrintIN does not process card payments within the app or ask for card numbers or banking passwords. Payment arrangements made directly with a print shop are handled by that shop and any payment provider you choose.
2. How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, maintain profiles and your preferred customer or shop view, find and display shops, deliver documents to the selected shop, calculate print quotes, manage and track orders, enable messages and reviews, review Business PAN submissions, manage verification badges and custom shop services, maintain Pcoin balances and plays, verify shop phone numbers where that service is enabled, and answer support requests. Service providers also process technical information to operate their services, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse. Google's advertising service processes information for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention.
3. Who receives information
- Your selected print shop: authorised staff can receive and download the files you submit, read your instructions, and see order details and the customer name, phone number, and profile picture associated with the order. Messages are available to the participants in the conversation.
- Other users and public visitors: shop listings, shop contact details, locations, photos, verification badges, custom service categories and prices, and submitted reviews with reviewer names are visible to others. Uploaded shop images and customer avatars use public image URLs; someone with such a URL can access the image. Avoid uploading sensitive images as profile or shop pictures.
- Supabase: provides authentication, database storage, file storage, server functions, and real-time updates. Account preferences, shop memberships, orders, documents, profiles, reviews, messages and private Business PAN submissions are processed through these services.
- Google: provides Google sign-in and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. PrintIN integrates Google advertising services, including test ads during testing. These services may collect and share IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP, app interactions, diagnostics, and device or account identifiers. These services use information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Collection depends on the SDK version, settings, and device controls. You can manage or reset your advertising ID through the advertising controls available in your Android settings.
- Maps and address lookup: OpenStreetMap tile requests reveal the map areas requested and network information such as your IP address. With location permission, PrintIN sends your current latitude and longitude to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to display your area name. To label a shop's saved map pin, PrintIN sends that public shop pin to Komoot's Photon service; that lookup does not send the customer's current location. These providers receive the network information needed to answer requests. Resolved shop addresses are cached on your device for reuse for up to 30 days before refresh.
- Cloudflare: hosts and protects the PrintIN website on thesinks.org and processes web-request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver and secure the site.
- Netlify: hosts the PrintIN website and these policy pages and receives web-request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver and protect the site.
A print shop may download documents to its own computer and create physical copies. Deleting a file from PrintIN does not remove copies already downloaded, printed, or otherwise retained by a shop. Contact the shop about those copies, or contact TheSinks for assistance.
4. Permissions and device storage
The camera is used to scan shop QR codes. PrintIN processes the camera feed to recognise QR codes; it does not upload camera video for this feature. Location is used while you use the app to find nearby shops and show your area. PrintIN does not request background location access. You can deny or revoke these permissions in device settings, although the related features may then be unavailable.
The file picker accesses the documents and images you select. Selecting a print file prepares it for an order; submitting the order uploads it. Profile and shop image upload actions upload the selected image. Authentication services store session information on your device so you can remain signed in. PrintIN also uses local app or browser storage for theme settings, an account-specific copy of your preferred view, cached shop addresses and the Pcoin wallet. Clearing app or browser data may sign you out and remove these local settings and the local wallet; it does not delete your server-side account.
Notifications: with permission where required, PrintIN displays message and order-status notifications. Notifications may include message text and order information, which may be visible on your lock screen depending on your device settings. You can turn off notifications or hide their contents through your device settings.
5. Retention
Print documents: uploaded print files are scheduled to expire seven days after upload. If an order is collected, cancelled, or rejected, its files are scheduled to expire 24 hours after that status change, or at the original seven-day deadline, whichever comes first. Expired files and their document metadata are removed on the next successful scheduled cleanup run. Cleanup runs hourly; failed deletions are retried, so actual removal can occur later than the expiry time.
Messages: messages older than seven days are removed during scheduled cleanup; failed cleanup runs can delay removal. You may also delete individual messages you sent through the app. Clear chat history hides earlier messages from your view only: the other participant keeps their view until the messages are deleted or expire. Deletion does not remove copies a recipient has already saved outside PrintIN.
Business PAN submissions: the current certificate and review record are retained while needed to assess and maintain shop verification, including pending or rejected submissions. Replaced certificates and certificates associated with removed verification records are queued for deletion; failed deletions are retried by scheduled cleanup. These files do not follow the seven-day print-document expiry. Contact us to request removal of a certificate or verification data; removal may affect the shop's verified status.
Local Pcoin wallet: balances, remaining plays, the last purchase date and recent results remain in local storage until replaced or cleared. Signing out does not reset the wallet. Clearing browser or app data or uninstalling the app may remove it; PrintIN does not keep an account-synchronised backup for restoration.
Accounts and other records: deleting print files does not automatically delete order history, including filenames, instructions, and customer details. Account and profile information, order history, favourite shops, reviews, conversation records, shop information, and images are retained as needed to operate your account and the service, or until they are removed through an available control or a verified deletion request. These records do not share the seven-day document or message expiry period.
Support correspondence and relevant technical or verification records may be retained as needed to resolve requests, protect the service, and meet applicable legal obligations. If particular information must be retained after a deletion request for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons, we will explain the information retained, the reason, and the applicable retention period. Copies in service-provider backups may remain until those backups expire under the provider's retention procedures.
6. Your choices and deletion requests
In More → Profile you can edit profile details and change your primary customer or shop preference. You can manage favourite shops, delete your own messages, clear chat history from your view, and delete eligible collected or rejected orders using the available controls. Removing a shop listing does not automatically erase the owner's account or past order history. Contact support for shop or account data-removal requests that are not available in your installed version. Uninstalling PrintIN does not delete information stored on our servers.
To request deletion of your PrintIN account and associated data:
- Email thesinks123@gmail.com with the subject PrintIN account deletion request.
- Identify the email address or username associated with your PrintIN account and state that you want the account and associated data deleted. You can send this request without reinstalling the app.
- We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify account ownership before processing the request. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, or verification codes.
After verifying the request, we will delete your PrintIN account and associated personal data, including profile information and account preferences, uploaded documents and images, verification submissions where associated with the account, messages, favourites, reviews, and linked personal order information, subject to any justified retention described in Section 5. We will inform you when the request has been completed or explain any information that must be retained. This does not delete your Google account.
You may also contact the same email address to request access to or correction of your information, or deletion of particular data without deleting your entire account. Include enough detail to identify the relevant records. Requests are handled in accordance with applicable requirements.
PrintIN cannot automatically remove copies of documents, messages, images, or printed materials that another person or shop has already retained outside the service. Contact the recipient or shop about those copies.
7. Security and international processing
PrintIN uses authentication, access controls, private storage for print documents and Business PAN certificates, and authorised download links to restrict access to print files. Verification certificates are restricted to authorised reviewers; shop staff can access only the submission details described above. Profile and shop image storage is public as explained above. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Providers may process data outside your country. The countries involved depend on the deployed hosting region and each provider's infrastructure.
8. Children's privacy
PrintIN is intended for people over 13 years of age. It is not intended for children aged 13 or younger, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child aged 13 or younger has provided personal information through PrintIN, please contact thesinks123@gmail.com so we can investigate and remove the information as appropriate.
9. Updates and contact
TheSinks may update this policy when PrintIN's features or data practices change. Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
